The Day We Got Ready For Sunday

I forced the children out of bed yesterday morning at 7:00 am.  My intent was to fix breakfast until I realized that Kacey had helped herself to two cupcakes and the frosting off a third and Little Lou had somehow found some goldfish crackers.  Is it bad I let my girls eat junk for breakfast?  I'm pretty sure my boys did not eat anything at all.  Oh well, nothing I can do about it now...

I planned ahead and made a list of chores that needed to be done and I gently forced everyone to pick the jobs that they would want to do and then I gently demanded that they get the work done before 10:00.  I am quite impressed with my crew.  Everyone worked hard and fast and all the chores were done by 9:30!  Thirty minutes ahead of schedule.  I love a productive Saturday morning...think we'll do it again next week!

Then yesterday afternoon, we packed our fam into our car and sped on over to the Stake Center where a special baptismal service was held.  Six children, five boys and one girl, were baptized.  One of the boys was my Joshie.  He looked so sweet and innocent all dressed in white.  He was baptized by My Man.  Baptism is the gate that when we enter through it, puts us on the straight and narrow path that leads us back to our  Father in Heaven.

We were blessed to have some of our family in attendance as well as many of our close family friends.  Uncle Mike, Aunt Emilee, Caleb and Madylnn, Great-Grandma Mary Lou, Aunt Marylou and Uncle Kyle. The Garcias, The Calhouns, The Hunters, Mike and Tyler Morgan,  Marge Ogden, Sara Smith, The Wrights, Lorin and Stevie Thwaits, Primary President Anna Ehle and her two handsome boys, The Bishopric and their families.  It is a wonderful feeling to be surrounded by those we love and we appreciate you being there to support Joshie.

That evening, my sister-in-law and I went to General Relief Society Meeting.  The purpose of Relief Society is to help women strengthen their testimonies of Jesus Christ, strengthen families and help those who are in need.  It was the perfect way to end an eventful day.

And so, I end where I began....except the children were snuggled in bed, the house was still slightly clean, and me exhausted.  It is a good thing that today is Sunday because as The Lord explains in Exodus 20:9-10, “Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work.”

I need my Sunday's!
Remember the Sabbath Day, to  keep it holy" (Exodus 20:8).

Very awesome! Congratulations Joshie! I love you! Your family is such a great example to me! I wish we could have been there... it would have been nice.

I gently let my children "pick" their chores, and I gently "ride" them until they are completed! :)

Love ya!
