Getting The Wires Crossed,...Or Are They Mixed Messages?

Maybe you've heard that I'm pregnant. Yes it is true... One of the major symptoms that I have been experiencing is called WORRIER. That is all I do sometimes...worry about this and worry about that.

Well, last night I got a phone call and was "indisposed" so I couldn't take it. Brandon took a message for me. That was nice of him, right? Well just a bit of background, Cub Scout Day Camp is going on this week and I volunteered to organize it and coordinate rides and chaperon's and such for the boys. The message I got from this person who called, er I should say, the message I heard was, "So-and-so can't take the boys but he can bring them home." What I understood was totally different...."So-and-so can't go to day camp." And so of course I went into panic mode.

I didn't know what I was going to do. I was mad, frustrated, stressed, I was a worried mess. It took me forever to fall asleep because my mind was in overdrive. First thing in the morning I send an email message to the Webelos Leader to let him know that So-and-so can't go and I asked him if he could possibly fill this now open spot. No dice. There was no way he could do it.

So the next thing I decide to do is try to call So-and-so to talk to him or his wife and see what in the world was going on. I kid you not it took me all day to get a hold of someone. Anyway, I'm talking to So-and-so's" wife and she explains that because her husband works near the place where the camp is to take place he was hoping someone could drive the scouts to day camp where he would meet them and chaperone them and then take them home at the end of the day.

Wholly cow! I was so relieved! I felt a huge weight fall off of my shoulders! I was preparing myself mentally to go to day camp. I was just happy when I realized that I didn't need to do a single thing, except help find a ride for the boys.

I learned how easy it is to get messages mixed up, and sometimes how hard it is to find a simple answer. Especially when your husband tells you over and over, "Call him. And see what's going on!" Keep the lines clear folks.....

Getting worked up over nothing? I think it runs in the family! :) Not just a pregnant thing. I am frequently being reminded by Jason, to relax. Usually as soon as I learn more, I feel much better... Worry warts! Who's got 'em?
