I am taking a wee little break from my packing and cleaning duties. Let me say for the record, moving sucks! Especially when there is a houseful of people who each own way too much stuff. Can you relate? I think I'll leave everything in boxes once we get to our new place. That way we'll be ready to move next time. Yeah? Yeah?
I went back to school part time just over a year ago. College is expensive. One class costs just as much as an entire semester at Idaho State University did in the mid/late-nineties. It is unbelievable. For the most part I have enjoyed being a student again because it gives me something outside of home and family to think about. So yeah, it has been good. But here is what kills me. Tuition. It's expensive, right? I would hope that the instructors would be intelligent enough to reflect the expense. You know, make it worth the money? Unfortunately, I am finding the quality of teaching to be a joke, but don't want to quit because I'm invested, I just want to go to class and take something from it. I want to be challenged academically, not with busy work but with meaningful assignments. Where I actually learn something. Is that too much to ask!? I am missing ISU and I kick myself each time I start a new stupid class that I had played less and worked harder back in the day. Know what I mean?

During the first half of 1999 I worked at a Pretzle Time shop at the local mall in the city I lived. The job was simple, the manager a pain in my rear, but I needed the money so I worked there until I could find something that payed a little better. Because I had proven myself as a loyal and hardworking employee, my boss decided it was high time to train me on the night shift/closing duties. Several things had to be taken care of to close the store including counting the tills, taking inventory, and making a nightly deposit. I learned the ropes and got into a good system.
So anyway, I had this Red Baron Pizza watch that had two clocks on it. One was kept the correct time and the other was off by an hour. Why? I don't know, so don't ask. One night I worked my shift as usual and when it was time for me to start cleaning up, I did so. I cleaned the soda machine, turned the ovens off, mopped the floors, threw out the leftovers, and then turned out the lights. A minute or two later, a lady from another store across the way came over to me and asked me what I was doing. I told her I was closing the shop. She told me it was only 9:00! I had looked at the wrong time on my watch and closed everything an entire hour early! I felt like an idiot! And I'm sure I was gossiped about for awhile, but in my defense I was engaged to be married and probably had My Man on my mind, if you know what I mean.
That experience doesn't seem so bad now, but at the time was incredibly embarrassing. Not my most embarrassing moment, but still up there on my list of stupid things I've done. Just trying to keep things interesting! Or something.

I remember you working at Pretzle Time! Now there is another pretzle shop. Tasty. I miss that Pretzle shop.
That is a funny story. I would be curious to know why you in fact had your watch set an hour early. :) he he he
Isnt it obvious? She had it set an hour early so she could see me sooner.
