The Destiny of the Sweet Red Car and TheTrimmed Tree

A few years ago, I bought three really cool race cars.  You know, the kind that you pull back until they click and then when you let go they race across the floor?  Yeah, that kind.  Well, my girls are pretty competitive and they have the same kind of taste in toys.  Or something.  If you have kids you will probably understand that what one child has, the other child wants.

Anyway, Kacey and Little Lou were fighting over this red car, yesterday morning, while I was getting ready for church.  Little Lou lost her little temper and threw the metal car at Kacey giving her a bloody lip.  You heard me right, a bloody lip and when I examined her it looked like it had cut all the way through, but what do I know?  I sure didn't poke and prod the laceration to find out.  I was all about stopping the bleeding.

My heart melts when any of my kids are in pain and as a way to comfort her I asked her if she would like our kind Bishop (who is a medical doctor) to look at her lip and she said yes.  After church we showed him her owie and he was pretty confident that she would be needing a couple of stitches or a bit of glue to close it up.  I was thinking the same thing but was dragging my feet because I know how traumatizing stitches can be for little kids.  Luckily, when we took her to Urgent Care, the Dr. said no to stitches but yes to glue and tape.  The tape was pointless and didn't last even 24 hours, but the cut is looking a little bit better this evening.

The car?  Let me just say that there will not be anymore squabbles over it.  Au revoir voiture rouge.

The hero of  the day was Josh.  He saw it happen and raced Kacey to me as fast as he could.  Yay for Josh!

Our Christmas tree is up and decorated.  Congratulate me now.  It's real and we're loving it.  Now where's the snow to go with it?

My Crew decorated and I rearranged.  That is the perfectionist in me coming out.  I can't help it!

Poor Kacey. I hate it when that happens. :( Good thing it wasn't any worse. Ah the good times as a child... :D
