Thanksgiving: A Review

We spent our Thanksgiving with family.  My awesome Sister-In-Law, Emilee, invited us over to spend time with her family.  There we enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving feast, complete with Manzanita Sol.  That stuff is so not good for you but who cares?  It's Thanksgiving!  A day where people all across America gorge themselves on turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, jello, YAMS, and let's not forget the pie!  Americans have a thing for pie, can you blame us?
Imagine that buttery. flaky. crust. stuffed full of your favorite fruit topped with a small mountain of whipped cream.  Remember that first bite of apple pie?  The tangy apples that hit your taste buds wowing your senses?  Or what about that second piece of pumpkin pie smothered in whipped cream that you promised yourself you wouldn't eat?

{Mmm, I think I'll have pie for lunch.}

By the way, Emilee made a coconut cream pie from scratch that was soooo delectable and worthy of a post in My Arsenal.  Okay, okay!  I'll ask her to share the recipe, but only if you promise to make it.  You will not be disappointed!

The day after Thanksgiving, we were back over to Dr. Mike and Emilee's celebrating my nephew's birthday.  He received a pair of tortoise's as a gift that made My Man completely jealous.  We may or may not be getting a pair ourselves one of these days that will most likely be named Rocky and Bullwinkle.  It would be hilarious!

Thanksgiving weekend would not have been complete without a little shopping and a movie.  I took my Crew to see Tangled.  I thought it was a great film.  The ending teared me up, but that is because true love conquers all...or something like that...plus I'm a sucker for a little romance.  Anyway, take your kids they will love it.

To sum things up we had a great weekend, stayed busy, and had a few good laughs.  We have many things to be be thankful for; mainly our family.  Have a wonderful day!

It was a particularly grand thanksgiving for us too! I'm glad yours was! Tangled is worthy to buy when it comes out.

Your pie looks great! I don't make them enough to be very good at the crust. But mine should taste great, even though it might not look as awesome as I would like it too!
