Whenever I hear the song I Am A Child Of God, three things come to my mind.
First, I remember the time that my oldest brother sang the song at his missionary homecoming in Korean. (He served for two years as a Mormon missionary in Seoul, Korea.) His solo has made a lasting impression on my life. I love my brother. He is a great man!
The next thing that I am reminded of is a woman named Aimee that I met while I was serving as a missionary in the St. Louis area. Aimee struggles with mental illness and sometimes we didn't know what kind of mood she was going to be in. I will never forget the time that my companion and I sang I Am A Child Of God to her as a way to teach her that we are all God's children. Aimee has been on my mind today and I hope that she is doing okay.
The last thing I think about during this special song is each of my children, when they were newborn babies. This was the first song that I sang to each of them while we were still in the hospital. I am growing to love my children more and more each day. Each of them have unique personalities that fit perfectly into our family.

I have two questions that you can ask yourself right now. (This came from Elder Yoshihiko Kikuchi of Quorum of the Seventy at a zone conference in October 1998.) The questions are: 1) Do you know you have a Heavenly Father and that He loves you very much? 2) Do you know He has a plan for you to return home to Him?
