Halloween; GOING, Going, almost gone...

On Friday, our church threw its annual Halloween party that we call Trunk or Treat.  We start with a dinner of chili and hot dogs and in my opinion, when it comes to chili it is usually hit or miss.  Either it is really good or really bad.  This year I dared to try a bowl  and was surprised to find the chili to be quite tasty.  Either the cook has perfected her recipe or it was canned.

On a side note, if anyone has the perfect chili recipe please share it with me because my husband has signed up to be in a chili cook-off where he works.  That means I am making chili, and if I have to make chili it had better be good enough to win, right?  (I'm competitive when it comes to cooking.)

After everyone filled up on hot dogs and chili, tums were passed around to the adults while the kids made way for fun games, followed by the main event -the Trunk or Treat!  If you're not familiar, trunk or treat is just like the regular door to door trick or treating, but the difference is instead of going door to door the kids go from car to car.  Anyone who wants to participate can decorate the trunk of their car and hand out candy to all of the kids dressed up in their fun Halloween costumes.  The following is a picture of someone's car that I found on the internet.  Get the idea?

Tonight, I'm curious to see how many kids come to the house begging for candy.  The little ones are always the cutest in their Halloween costumes.  The following are pictures of my Crew transformed into their alter-egos.  Enjoy the entertainment!

Trunk or Treats are nice. It is kind of like a one stop shop. :) I have a chili recipe that is supposed to be the bomb. It is Jason's grandmother's recipe. I have not made it, but plan to in the next few weeks. I could share it with you, and you can try it out! Let me know!

What darling kids in such cute costumes! I like Josh's sign the best. I'll bet that some were taken by it and actually gave him candy.
