Yesterday, we had our good friends, The Morgan's, over to watch the "Big Game" with us and to have some good eats. I mostly listened but I saw all the unbelievable plays! Yeah, I have a knack for knowing when to watch. (It couldn't have been that all the boys were screaming and yelling when things were looking pretty good.) There were three plays that I keep replaying in my head that were unbelievable.
The first amazing play (annoyingly so) that I saw was right before half time when the Cards were just four yards from the end zone. Kurt Warner passed the ball for the would-be touchdown but it was intercepted by Steelers linebacker, James Harrison. Then he ran it all the way down the field for the touchdown...with what they are calling the longest play in Super Bowl history! I mean it was just a 100 yards, big whoop! Well, we were all screaming because no one could touch him, almost like he was invincible! I thought the game was over for the Phoenix Cardinals because they made such a stupid mistake. Boo hoo-hoo.....
...Until, at the end of the 4th quarter, Larry Fitzgerald caught the ball from Kurt Warner! He then ran it about 55 yards into the end zone! TOUCHDOWN!! Once he was free he smoked them all! Run, Fitz, run! HOLY COW! It was amazing! And I can't get the look in Fitz's eyes out of my head...they say that the eyes are the windows to the soul....you decide. You can get a little clearer picture of his face while he's running at this website: http://www.nfl.com/videos.
The last totally amazing play was actually a pretty lucky interception. Let me see how can I down play this one? I CAN'T! Can you say, "Tippy toes," Holmes? I wonder, is he Irish? I still say his feet never even touched the ground....if you watched the game you know what I'm talking about! Santonio Holmes scored big time putting the Steelers ahead again with only about 35 seconds left in the game.
With half a minute left, the Card's tried really hard to come out on top. I think they did the best they could...Actually, I think they could have had it in the end if Warner could have found someone to pass too. They played a great game....Some say that it is the best game that they have ever played. I am impressed...considering I never thought the Phoenix Cardinals would make it to the Super Bowl in a million years! I would like to see them make it next year and win!
I'll be rootin' from the sidelines.....MAYBE!

What the SuperBowl was on last night? Shoot I missed it, it is too bad those 49ers couldn't pull it off in the end
The top one was my favorite play. It was pretty amazing. I had to watch it-in the replay- over and over again, because I wasn't convinced that he actually made it in. But finally I could not deny it any long after viewing the play from every possible angle.
About the "twinkle toes," that was a hard decision for me. But my brothers-in-law were all convinced that he had both feet planted, and he had control of the ball, with it tucked in. It was pretty amazing too.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who watched it.
