One day, while visiting in Soda, Ethan and I were sitting on the front porch with Grandpa Terry enjoying the cool breeze. Across the street there was a little girl out riding her bike in front of her house. Well, she crashed and was having trouble getting up. Ethan noticed this and asked me if he could go help her. Of course he could. He ran across the street and lifted the bike for her. Apparently, her foot was stuck but she was okay.
Observing my boy do a good deed for someone gave me such a good feeling. Here is a boy without any guile doing something the Savior would do if He were here Himself. Remember the scripture that says, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." (Matt 25:40)
Thanks, Ethan, for being such a good and kind boy. I was reading in the July 2008 Friend Magazine when I came across a poem that made me think of you. Here it is:
KINDNESS
By Lana Krumwiede
Kindness looks for ways to help.
Kindness lets a friend go first.
Kindness tries to keep the peace.
Kindness never thinks the worst.
Kindness plays with everyone.
Kindness gives a loving touch.
Kindness speaks with gentle words.
Kindness never takes too much.
Kindness cares and kindness knows.
Kindness shares and kindness shows.
