Whoever invented "Sleeping In" is a moron. I used to sleep in....until I had kids. I automatically wake up as soon as they do. I don't know what it is, I hear them even when they are "quiet." What makes me wake up? I haven't figured it out yet and I've been trying to decide if it is a blessing or a curse.
This morning, up early as usual, I got ready for the day, and then had a bunch of Cub Scouts over. I am a den leader and I usually have about five 8-9 year old boys, plus my three kids for our den meetings. My oldest just turned eight so he is now an "official" Cub Scout. We made ice cream in a bag. Yum, yum! Cub Scouting is definitely a love-hate relationship for me. I love it, but I hate it.
This afternoon, I took Joshua to get a new pair of shoes. Both of my boys have really been growing lately. We went to Famous Footwear and he picked out a new pair of Skechers. I was trying to guide him to pick out a pair for $35 but I accidentally showed him the $45 pair. Of course he loved them and wouldn't settle for anything less. I suppose I could have left the store and gone to get a crappy pair of Pay Less shoes but I decided to get them anyway. Oh well. He is happy.
All is well that ends well......At least that's what I heard once.
